a truly singular orange wine that combines flor aging, botrytis, and a solera-like system. porta #9 is deep, layered, oxidative and aromatic — for curious palates looking for something bold, evolved, and alive.

porta #9 is one of the most adventurous wines from zsolt suto’s cellar at strekov 1075. it blends aurelius and devín grapes, both native slovak crossings, and layers of winemaking complexity: the devín sees gentle botrytis and aging under flor after pressing, while the aurelius spends a full year on the skins. all this takes place in a perpetual solera-like system started in 2019, with multiple vintages resting and mingling in barrel. bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no added so2 — a wine as alive and unbound as its maker.

flavor profile oxidative, floral, apricot
floral aromas meet dried apricot, toasted nuts, and a sherry-like salinity. texturally rich and oxidatively complex, but lifted by bright acidity and persistent minerality. a contemplative, slow-sipping wine.

grape varieties and region specifics
made from devín and aurelius — aromatic, early-ripening varieties bred in slovakia and the czech republic. the vineyards lie in the village of strekov, nitra region, and are farmed ecologically by zsolt and his small team. winemaking here follows an uncompromising natural approach: no filtration, no sulfur, and long, slow maturation.

perfect pairings and occasions
best enjoyed with aged cheeses, walnut pâté, or moroccan-spiced dishes. perfect for quiet reflection, deep conversation, or when you want to challenge your senses and sip something rare.
